The Board of Meeting Point Trust
Meeting Point house is run by a Board of Trustees made up of the following;
Anglican Diocese of Lichfield – 1 director
Anglican Diocese of Hereford – 1 director
Religious Society of Friends - 1 director
Local Authority – 1 director

The remaining Trustees have specific backgrounds which provide the Trust with a broad range of business skills and knowledge.

Charitable Objectives
To promote any charitable purpose or purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the beneficial areas and in particular (but not by way of limitation) the advancement of religion, the advancement of education, the protection of health, the relief of poverty, distress and sickness and the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and other leisure activities of the community in the beneficial area with the object on improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants thereof.

Rev Keith Osmund-Smith BEM - Chairman
Keith was a serving police officer from 1969 to 1996 completing his career with the Home Office Central Planning and Training Unit. Following police service he worked as a leadership and communications consultant with an international pharmaceutical company and similar organisations in Europe and the USA. From 2007 Keith entered full time ministry serving as Co-ordinating Chaplain with Telford Christian Council. Keith founded the Telford Street Pastors group and was awarded the British Empire Medal in the New Year Honours List 2022 and was honoured to attend the Coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey in 2023.

Rae Evans - Deputy Chair
Throughout Rae Evans professional life she has worked primarily in the fields of Business Strategy, HR and Performance and Quality Management. Rae holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Management and is a qualified Business Counsellor. Rae has significant experience of working in and with charities, the public and not-for-profit sectors. In 2016/17 she was elected Mayor of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin and subsequently became a Cabinet Member for the Borough. Her portfolios included Finance and Governance which was held until retirement. She is proud to have been made an Honorary Alderman of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.

Rev David Lavender
Retired Methodist Minister. Spent most of his ministry with some ecumenical involvement, including 10 years in the Central Telford Ecumenical Partnership (10 Anglican and Methodist Churches) and 13 years as Ecumenical Dean of Telford. Past management of Telford Christian Council with its variety of work including the establishment of Stay its supported housing company working with 16-25 year olds and engaging on behalf of the churches in the wider life of the town. David’s long standing association and loyalty to Meeting Point House dates back to the very beginning (1988). Interests include cooking, photography and detective stories

David Rolfe
David is a retired Civil Servant and Quaker, with a background in systems and administration. David represents the Telford branch of the Quakers who have been extremely supportive in the development of Meeting Point House after choosing to be involved with this community project rather than building/sourcing their own building. David’s hobbies are cycling and playing the guitar, both of these keep him calm and sane!

David G Wright
Dave served over 34 years in the Army in many theatres of the world. He then joined EDS and Capgemini working on Central Government IT Accounts. Previously Dave has been Chairman of the Trust. Dave is Chairman of Forum 50+, Chairman of Shropshire Pension Board and Chairman of Ramblers Wellbeing Walks. He is a member of Shropshire Royal Signals Association, The Western Front Association and Shifnal Royal British Legion. His hobbies are collecting and World War 1.

Liam Scott
Liam is a Telford based Risk Management professional, offering consulting, training and recruitment services through his Scott Risk Management business. Liam is passionate about advising and supporting the objectives of Meting Point Trust to provide an increasingly successful business model, which in turn enables increased capability at Meeting Point House to provide local charities and good causes with opportunities to undertake their services.

Cllr Paul Davies
Telford & Wrekin Council is the local authority for the borough of Telford and Wrekin in Shropshire, England. It was established as The Wrekin District Council in 1974 and became a unitary authority in 1998, renaming itself Telford and Wrekin. The council operates under a Leader with Cabinet system and is currently under Labour majority control. The council has a vision to protect, care, and invest in order to create a better borough. Their priorities include focusing on resident well-being, the economy, neighborhoods, the environment, and a community-focused council. The council works with residents, partners, and local organizations to deliver services, emphasizing co-operative values.

Tom Currie
Tom has over 40 years’ experience in the Criminal Justice System and is the former Head (retired) of the National Probation Service (West Mercia). Tom graduated Manchester University with a BA (Hons) in Social Sciences along with post graduate diplomas in Social Work/Management Studies an MBA and Theology Certificate. In addition to being a Parish Councillor, Lay Minister, and Canon at Lichfield Cathedral Tom also sits on the Board of Yellow Ribbon and TACT (Telford After Care Team) having a lifelong commitment to supporting those in recovery from drugs/alcohol & mental ill health, or transition from prison. In his spare time has a passion for hill walking and is also a 5th Dan in Karate

Charlotte is an accomplished place partnerships manager. She leads initiatives that support economic development, inward investment, and destination development. Charlotte has a proven track record of securing significant funding, forging strong partnerships with government bodies, and influencing high-level stakeholders. With a background in public relations and youth participation, Charlotte is passionate about creating vibrant, resilient communities through innovative place-based initiatives. She is committed to leveraging her skills and experience to contribute to the board’s mission of fostering sustainable growth and supporting community development.
